A guide created by a collective

help you develop a career in the
arts if you are not a performer

I actually get paid for
something I enjoy

At the heart of many creative organisations, outreach and education departments work with young people, schools, the wider community and specific groups who for social, cultural or economic reasons do not think that the arts are for them. Some arts companies have a specific social or political objective as the central purpose of their work. Education departments often involve young people and the local community in all aspects of their company’s work, including sharing ways of rehearsing, or special events to support productions. Education and outreach aim to develop the skills, ambition and confidence of the theatre-makers of the future.
