Tour Managers are responsible for managing national and international logistics (including travel, accommodation and visas) for all touring staff. It usually involves travelling with the orchestra. Sometimes the tour manager will generate further work by selling to venues and promoters.

Concerts or Orchestral Managers are responsible for the orchestra during rehearsals and concerts, and for liaison with venues, booking rehearsal spaces and hire of instruments. They are also in charge of platform moves at concerts, in conjunction with technical staff. Awareness of health and safety legislation and working practices is helpful.
